Dr. Michael Hopkins grew up locally in the South Bay, where he graduated from Palos Verdes High School. He attended Stanford University where in 1980 he earned his AB Degree in Human Biology with Distinction. He went on to earn his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from UCLA in 1984. Dr Hopkins served as a General Practice Resident in Hospital Dentistry at UCLA Medical Center from 1984 to 1985 and later as a clinical instructor at the UCLA Department of Hospital Dentistry.

Dr. Hopkins is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Western Los Angeles Dental Society.

Dr Hopkins has been practicing General Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry in the South Bay for 40 years and at his current practice since 1990. Committed to providing the best care possible to his patients, Dr. Hopkins completes over forty hours of continuing education per year. He attended several courses emphasizing Invisalign, Cerec Crowns, Implants, and Aesthetic Dentistry giving him the status of a Level 4 Cerec Provider and a Premier Invisalign Provider. Because he believes in expanding his knowledge of the most up to date technology and techniques, he continues his education for himself and his entire staff by regularly attending courses and seminars. His passion for creating healthy, aesthetic, and functional smiles is very apparent through his patient outcomes and satisfaction.

A resident of Manhattan Beach, he is married with five children ages 14-29. He is a lifelong avid surfer and snow skier and also enjoys stand up paddle boarding, golfing, and restoring his classic VW Bus.
